Prohibited goods

In accordance with Article 19 of the Universal Postal Convention, the following items are prohibited:

• Narcotics and psychotropic substances, as defined by the International Narcotics Control Board, or other illicit drugs prohibited in the destination country;
• Obscene or immoral items;
• Counterfeit and pirated goods;
• Other items whose importation or circulation is prohibited in the destination country;
• Items which, by their nature or packaging, may endanger officials or the public, or soil or damage other items, postal equipment, or third-party property;
• Documents of the nature of current and personal correspondence exchanged between persons other than the sender and the addressee, or persons living with them;
• Grenades, inert shells, and similar items;
• Live animals;
• Coins, banknotes, currency notes, or securities of any kind payable to the bearer, traveler’s checks, platinum, gold, or silver (whether manufactured or not), precious stones, jewelry, or other valuable items;
• Printed publications and items for the blind:
  • Containing any inscriptions or elements of correspondence;
  • Containing postage stamps or prepaid forms, whether canceled or not, or any papers representing monetary value, except when the item contains as an enclosure a card, envelope, or wrapper bearing the printed address of the sender of the item or their agent in the country of posting or destination of the original item, which is prepaid for return.

If prohibited items are detected during transportation, they will be handled in accordance with the national legislation of the country and under no circumstances shall they be forwarded to the destination, delivered to the addressees, or returned to the country of origin.

It is also prohibited to sell, supply, transfer, or export, directly or indirectly, luxury goods listed in Annex XVIII of Council Regulation (EU) 2022/428 of 15 March 2022 to any individual or legal entity, organization, or body in Russia, or for use in Russia, provided that their value exceeds 300 euros per unit, unless otherwise specified.  

For example:  

- Household electronic items valued at more than 750 euros.  

- Electrical/electronic or optical equipment for recording and reproducing sound and images valued at over 1,000 euros.  

- Musical instruments valued at more than 1,500 euros.  

- Goods and equipment for sports activities, including skiing, golf, diving, and water sports.
